Hosting a Spring Tea

If April Showers bring May flowers then we are in for a bountiful May!
I would like to share just a "little taste" of what my Taste of Home Entertaining hosts get when they host a party with me. Not only do they get to be with their friends and family, they learn great tips for entertaining and get a FREE SHOPPING SPREE of all of their favorite products. You may be saying to yourself I have done a home party before, but not one so EASY and not one where you have ME to help you earn as many FREE products as you want! But more of that later... I want help you to learn about Hosting a Spring Tea.

When I first thought of this theme I thought about how easy it could be for my hosts, as a stay at home mom of 2 girls under 3 (Indigo turning 3 in August, Nathania turning 1 this month) I know when it comes to entertaining time is at a premium. Taste of Home Entertaning is equal parts inspiration, preperation and presentation. When you think of inspiration for spring, what do you immediately think of? I think of green verdant plants flowering into bloom. I think of outdoors and the warm breezes felt on your skin while sitting in your favorite rocking chair. I think of lilacs sweet blossoms filling the air (this is a special childhood memory of mine from Ohio where I was raised) Use that inspiration to set a menu for your special guests.
Use the 3S's something Sweet, something Savory and something to Sip on. Wouldn't petit fours be beautiful with those tiny candied flowers as your sweet? Or even easier, and semi homeade make cupcakes and decorate them with candied flowers. I have seen some really beautiful sugar flowers and hey are very easy to make and even easier to purchase at your bakery supply store. For something Savory why not go on our sister website for Taste of Home Magazine and look up quiche recipes. You could take advantage of the best produce for Spring and try an Asparagus Quiche. For something to sip on, the highlight is the tea. The tea could be a orange pekoe, an earl grey or why not even try a green jasmine tea? Teas are in such bounty. you can find entire websites dedicated to educating yourself about teas and tea culture.
